Glucerna 1.2 Cal Specialized Nutrition for Enhanced Glycaemic Control – 1 Litre
Glucerna 1.2 Cal Specialized Nutrition for Enhanced Glycaemic Control – 1 Litre is a calorically dense formula that has CarbSteady, a unique blend of carbohydrates, including slowly digestible carbohydrate clinically shown to help minimize blood glucose response and fish oil to support cardiovascular health.
- For patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
- For patients with hyperglycaemia/abnormal glucose tolerance resulting from metabolic stress, such as illness, trauma or infection.
- For tube or oral feeding.
- For supplemental or sole-source nutrition.
- Use under medical supervision.
- GLUCERNA 1.2 CAL has been clinically shown to significantly reduce peak postprandial blood glucose response by 49 mg/dL (69%) and reduce glycaemic variability versus a standard 1.2-Cal formulation in people with diabetes.1,2
- Caloric distribution - protein, 20%; fat, 45%; carbohydrate, 35%.
- 20% of calories from protein to promote anabolism and support wound healing.
- At 1.2 Cal/mL, patient needs can be met with less volume.
- Meets or exceeds 100% of the RDIs for 24 key vitamins and minerals in 1500 Cal (1250 mL).
- 4% of total calories from saturated fatty acids and rich in monounsaturated fatty acids (28% of total calories), consistent with the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association guidelines.3
- Provides plant-based omega-3 fatty acids from canola oil (3 g of ALA per 1500 Cal) and the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA (1 g per 1500 Cal) from fish oil consistent with American Heart Association reported levels to support cardiovascular health.4
- Slowly digested carbohydrate sources for enhanced glycaemic response.
- Has chromium picolinate to help support glucose levels.
- Chromium from chromium picolinate to help the body's insulin work.
- Gluten-free; suitable for lactose intolerance
Safety Precautions:
- Not for patients with galactosemia.
- Not for IV use.
- Feeding sets are for single-patient use only. Use clean technique to avoid set and or product contamination
