How to Clean Your Concentrator
It is essential to clean your concentrator equipment regularly.
Facemask or tubing. Clean it once a week using hot water, mild dishwashing soap and warm. It is recommended to clean it more frequently when you are sick. Allow it to air dry, and make sure that no water gets inside the tube. If you notice that the tubing is damaged, you can get a replacement from your oxygen distributor.
Humidifier bottle. If you have one, wash it once every 3 days using hot water, mild dishwashing soap and warm. Rinse with hot water. It is also possible to soak it in a mixture of water and vinegar for a couple of minutes to remove any bacteria that may have remained. Dry the bottle using the help of a tower made of paper, and then use a fan to dry the bottle.
Filter for Concentrator. Clean it at least once every month. Get it out and pour it in a container full of mild dish soap and water. Use a washcloth to scrub it to remove dust and dirt and then wash the filter under water to get rid of any soap leftovers. The filter should be placed on a clean, dry towel and allow it to breathe dry before putting it back into the concentrator.
